Lou Pompilio started his guitar endeavor at the age of seven. He began working professionally at 14 and studied under Russ Ditzel who taught him how to be a much better player through chord structures and reading. He then attended Berklee College of Music. After college he worked, wrote and performed arrangements for the Phil Wilson Big Band, performed with Bob Constantino’s Band, performed with Joe Pesci & Frankie Vincent, lead, directed and arranged music for Sesame Suite Band, worked as the Choir & Choral Director at several churches and lead, directed and arranged for Affirmation Band.
Lou is a talented creative, musician, vocalist and composer who has written many original tunes and produced two CDs, 'On the Incoming Tide' and ‘Sotto o Sole e Napoli’. His repertoire includes jazz, pop, swing, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. The smoothness of Lou's playing style is very conducive to restaurants as well as private parties and corporate events.
Currently he can be found at Villa Milagro Winery in Finesville, NJ, Plumsteadville Inn in Plumsteadville, PA, The Brick Tavern Inn in Quakertown, PA and Luigi’s Rancho in Belvidere, NJ. He currently teaches guitar at Dave Phillips Music in Phillipsburg, NJ and privately. Whether it is background music for dining and conversation or more intensity for folks on the dance floor, Lou completely understands the importance of volume and assessing the mood and environment.
